Arborvitae 'Degroot's Spire'

Thuja occidentalis 'Degroot's Spire' arborvitae. For narrow space privacy screens at 20' tall and 4' - 5' wide. 'Degroot's Spire' has a beautiful, tall habit and can be the best choice for planting between close spaced houses or buildings for a privacy fence or screen. Deep green foliage and a twisted texture on pyramidal form. 'Degroot's Spire' tolerates pruning to create a formal, tailored column.

Arborvitae 'Green Giant' Western

Thuja standishii x plicata 'Green Giant' Western Red Cedar 30' - 50'. Fast growing evergreen tree, an ideal choice for large privacy screen or tall windbreak. 'Green Giant' arborvitae has an upright, pyramidal shape and often used as substitute for Leland cypress.Planted in rows, 'Green Giant' makes a stunning backdrop in a landscape as a solid living fence for privacy. Soft foliage is dark green and dense. 'Green Giant' arborvitae holds its color during winter months without browning or yellowing.  Prefers full sun but will tolerate some afternoon shade. Plant in a well drained area. Medium to fast growth rate.

 


 

Arborvitae 'Zebrina'

Thuja plicata 'Zebrina' arborvitae 30' - 35'. Western red cedar, giant red cedar. Native to the Pacific Northwest. A pyramidal tree with a narrow, tall form, 'Zebrina' matures to 8' - 12' wide. From a distance color and appearance this tree is bright yellow green but close up the foliage is striped with deep green and golden creamy yellow. 'Zebrina' is a great idea to plant along a driveway or for a privacy screen between buildings.

Cedrus atlantica Blue Atlas Cedar 30' - 40' Evergreen. A beautiful conifer with irregular, wide pyramidal which makes an excellent specimen tree. Blue Atlas Cedar has densely spaced, stunning, silver blue needles. In a winter landscape the icy color of Blue Atlas Cedar is striking and provides unique year round interest. Clusters of stiff green or blue green needles are on open, elegant branches which are almost horizontal. The conical form of a young tree quickly adds a fine, established look to the landscape.

Deodar Cedar 30' - 40'. A graceful evergreen conifer which has sweeping branches and blue green foliage, Deodar Cedar is a large tree which will shine in any landscape design. A great choice for a focal point or as a backdrop for smaller flowering trees or shrubs, Deodar Cedar brings an elegant look to a property. Works well as a privacy screen and may be planted with alternating darker green large trees to add interesting color contrast when planted as a living wall or fence.

Cryptomeria 'Radicans'

Cryptomeria 'Radicans' japonica Japanese cedar 30' - 40' evergreen conifer tree ideal for a large space privacy fence or property border windbreak. Cryptomeria 'Radicans' is Similar to ‘Yoshino’, but compared to 'Yoshino', 'Radicans' has a slightly denser habit and a more columnar growth form. With a graceful shape and tall form, 'Radicans' may be planted in rows for a tall living wall or hedge.Medium to fast growing.

Ilex x 'Emily Bruner'. A female holly with red berries which will attract birds and bring color to the winter garden. Tree form evergreen shrub 20' with pyramid shape, an attractive choice for planting privacy screens and hedges. Foliage is dark green and dense. Leaves are slightly larger than 'Nellie Stevens' holly. 'Emily Bruner' works well as a focal point specimen or backdrops in border gardens. Colorful berries in fall.

Ilex x attenuata 'Fosteri' Foster's Holly pyramidal 20'. Color is a medium green with bright red berries in fall and pointed leaves. Foster's holly is a good choice for tree forming and is suitable for foundation planting, large living fences and as a tall privacy hedge. Makes a great backdrop in a border garden.

 


 

Holly 'Nellie R. Stevens'

Ilex x Hybrid holly 'Nellie R. Stevens' evergreen shrub 15' - 20'.  A hermaphrodite tree form holly with both male and female flower parts in each flower. 'Nellie R. Stevens' does not need a male plant for pollination and berry production. 'Nellie R. Stevens' holly has glossy, deep green leaves and pyramidal shape. The color is among the darkest green of the holly cultivars. Bright red berry persist during winter and are highly attractive to birds. 'Nellie R. Stevens' is striking in a landscape when used as a specimen tree and the dense foliage make it effective if planted as a large privacy screen hedge.

'Bracken's Brown Beauty' has the classic leathery textured, oblong, leaves which Southern Magnolias are known for. Foliage is dark, glossy green on top with a beautiful cinnamon brown underside. In the spring 'Bracken's Brown Beauty' puts forth creamy white, large, fragrant saucer shaped blooms. Glowers mainly during late spring with sporadic bloom produced throughout summer. Works well when planted as a tall privacy hedge, back of a border tree or individual specimen.

NATIVE. Magnolia grandiflora Southern magnolia 'D.D. Blanchard'. Large evergreen tree 50'. Big, glossy leaves are rusty brown orange underneath in a lighter color than other southern magnolia cultivars. 'D.D. Blanchard' is dense with a compact growth habit. Big, show stopping blooms are creamy white, globe shaped and very fragrant. 'D.D. Blanchard' is a best idea for landscape use as a tall growing, dense privacy screen or back of a border tree.

The silver blue tint to the needles will set off a border garden and stand out in a landscape. The smoky color is show stopping when paired with a darker green such as Norway spruce.
